- Bathing, using high quality shampoo:
As you probably know bathing is needed to stimulate the dog's skin, cleaning and moisturizing the coat whilst removing dead hair which helps to improve circulation and condition. Your dog will be shampooed and conditioned in warm water. You may bring your own dog shampoo with you if you wish.
- Drying:
I use SnuggleSafe Soft white towels and have various specialist dryers such as Master Blaster, Stand Dryer and Cage Dryer.
- Brushing:
This improves the coat texture preparing it for clipping or hand scissoring.
- De-matting:
De-Matting is not always necessary but if required can be done by hand using a process of grooming tools. Some coats if badly matted may need shaving, this will be discuss before beginning the grooming session.
- Clipping:
I use various high quality scissors and various 'Aesculap' clippers. Your dog will be cut to breeder standard or to your preference.
- Eyes & Ears Cleaned:
I will gently clean your dog's eyes with 'Erase Tear Stain Remover', a specialized high quality product suitable for your dog. The ears will be cleaned with 'Bio-Groom' and de-haired, then treated with 'Thornit' canker powder.
- Nails Trimming:
I will check your dog's nails for trimming and filing.
- Flea treatment:
I will administer flea treatment in the form of a JDS insecticidal shampoo. Other flea treatments should be obtained from a fully qualified Vet.
- Examination for any irregular lumps, infections etc:
I will examine your dog for any irregular lumps or infections etc, and also clean out your dog's anal glands should they need it.
